Rosemarie D. Knights, 92, a resident of Leonard Street, died Tuesday April 16, 2019 at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation following a long illness.

Born in Bennington on January 21, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Armand and Maude (Buck) Dufresne. She received her education in the Bennington schools.

Mort and Marie were married in Bennington on August 31, 1947. Mort died February 18, 2014. For many years, Marie was employed by the New England Telephone Company in Bennington.

Known as a wonderful cook, Marie's home and family were her main interest. She especially enjoyed time spent with her two granddaughters, Melissa and Jennifer.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Francis Heisler of North Fort Myers, Florida; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Traci Knights of Arlington; a daughter-in-law, Diane Knights of Bennington; two grandchildren Melissa Knights and her fiancé Floyd Amidon of Pownal and Jennifer and Sean Thornell of Goshen, New York; two great-grandchildren, Katie and Aiden; a sister, Dorothy Joly of Colonie, New York and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband Marie was predeceased by a son, James Knights, and twelve sisters and brothers, Catherine, Ruby, Genevieve, Rita, Madeline, Mary, Albertina, Frio, Frederick, Winfred, Edward and Exaid.

At Marie's request private funeral services will take place at the convenience of the family.

Burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery.
