Rosan Greene, born April 22, 1942, loving mother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully in her sleep, Tuesday evening October 4, 2022 at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington, Vermont.
She received her education in Bennington, graduating from Bennington Catholic in 1960.
Rosan had many accomplishments during her lifetime which included earning a Bachelor's degree in Art from Siena College, her 20 years of employment with Eveready Battery and owning a successful restaurant for over 20 years with her partner, Mary Palmer.
After retiring from the restaurant, The Northside Diner, she was a school bus aide assisting children with disabilities.
Rosan volunteered her time at the Eagles Lodge Thanksgiving dinner and Tim Tebow's "Night to Shine" for people with disabilities.
Those who knew Rosan knew how passionate she was about her family and her beliefs. She was always there for her family and friends when they needed a place to stay or just some sisterly advice.
An accomplished artist, Rosan won prizes in college for her silhouettes. She painted a Catamount and Moose for the Bennington Octoberfest and especially loved doing paintings on slate, many of which she sold in local shops or just gave as gifts to family and friends.
Rosan leaves behind her son, Scott Agresta, two grandsons, Payton and Adam Agresta, two brothers Ernest Murray Jr, nieces, Crystal, Casie, Kaitlyn and Amie and a nephew, Tony. She also leaves behind many dear friends who were thought of as sisters and Herbie, who she thought of like a brother. She is predeceased by her parents, Veto and Carmela (Millie) Agresta, Ernest Murray, III., brother Joseph Agresta, and sister Donna Hart.
There are no words to express how much Rosan is loved and will be missed. She will never be forgotten.
Friends may call the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Sunday, October 9, 2022 from 11:00 am " 1:00 pm, followed by a graveside service at White Chapel Cemetery, Chapel Road, Bennington, Vermont.
The family would like to invite everyone to a reception at the Moose Lodge on Main Street in Bennington, Vermont immediately following the graveside service.
