BENNINGTON

Ronald S. Dommke, 74, a resident of Park Street, Bennington, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family following a long illness.

Born in Bay City, Michigan on May 15, 1946, he was the son of the late Calvin Gustav and Elizabeth (Utley) Dommke. He receives his education in schools in Michigan, California, New York and Bennington where he was a 1965 graduate of Bennington High School.

Ron married the former Barbara Hathaway at St. Peters Church in Bennington on June24, 1967.

Ron was employed at Union Carbide/Eveready in Bennington from 1967 until his retirement in 2002.

He served in Company C, Vermont National Guard, for six years. Ron's favorite pastime was time spent with his family and friends, especially his grandson Logan. He also enjoyed reading and all types of sports.

Ron's family would like to thank VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region and especially Emma Mattison, for their care and support during Ron's illness.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Dommke of Bennington, a son, Brian (Christine Haseman) Dommke and a grandson, Logan Dommke of North Bennington; a sister-in-law, Jeannine Dommke of Bennington and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ron was predeceased by a twin brother, Ross Dommke, who died in2011.

At Ron's request there will be no services held.
