Ronald E. Bisson, 78, a resident of Route 346 in Pownal, Vermont died Thursday October 6, 2022 at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born in Bennington, Vermont January 17, 1944. He was the son of the late Emile and Helen (Richard) Bisson. Ron received his education in Bennington and was a graduate of Bennington Catholic High School.
For over 30 years Ron was employed as an electrician at General Electric in Pittsfield, MA. He also was self employed as a plumber, a trade he learned from his father. Ron served as a selectman for the town of Pownal for many years.
He enjoyed antique cars and was an avid hunter. He made several hunting trips to Alaska. Ron was a kind and caring man. He was a frequent giver to charities and was always willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need, in both his work and personal life.
Survivors include his significant other of 27 years, Marcia Hall of Pownal. A daughter Julie Morris and her husband Keith of Athens, Georgia. Marcia's son and daughter who Ron considered his children Tate Hall (Jennifer) of Pownal and Julie Megaro (Michael) of Virginia Beach, VA. His grandchildren, Ben and (Enid) Morris and Milo Morris of Athens, GA, and step-grandchildren, Phebe and Kylee Hall of Pownal, VT and Zachary, Keegan, Cali, Kirbi and Ryen Megaro all of Virginia Beach. Two brothers, Alonzo Bisson (Wendy), and Dennis Bisson of Pownal. A sister Claire Bisson (Beth) of Stockton, California. Along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by his first wife, Barbara and his older brother, Richard "Dick" Bisson (Sandra).
Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Sunday October 9, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
The graveside service will be held at Park Lawn Cemetery on Monday October 10 at 11:00 a.m.
