Roger Joseph Contois

August 26, 1963 — June 27, 2018

Roger J. Contois, 54, a resident of White Oakes Road, Pownal, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.

Born in North Adams, MA on August 26, 1963, he was the son of the late Fernand and Florence (Martel) Contois. Roger received his education in the Bennington schools and was a 1982 graduate of Mt. Anthony Union High School.

Roger was a self-employed mechanic and logger. An avid outdoorsman, he especially enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing and four wheeling.

Roger will be remembered by his family as a loving father and grandfather to his daughter and two grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter, Kassandra Mentiply of Bennington; two grandchildren, Calvin and Oakleigh; two sisters, Mary (Mike) Webber of Pownal and Donna Johnson of Bennington; three step-children, Crystal, Gina and Kari and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Roger was predeceased by a sister, Karen Contois

Memorial services celebrating the life of Roger Contois will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.
