Robert Joseph Provensal

Robert Joseph Provensal, 83 of Bennington, VT, passed away peacefully at his home on March 27, 2024. Bob was born in Bennington on January 15, 1941, the son of Leonard and Stasia (Wrubleski) Provensal. Bob was educated in Hoosick Falls, NY schools and was a graduate of Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY. He married the former Wanda Jean Farrington on August 5, 1961. Bob was a mechanical engineer and worked for Tansitor Electronics in Bennington for 55 years from 1961-2016. Bob’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He attended all of their sporting events and school functions, as well as spoiling them rotten. He loved fixing motors on cars, he had also worked on trucks following his graduation from HVCC. Bob loved motorcycle riding, he also enjoyed bowling and playing softball. Bob is survived by his wife of over 62 years, Wanda of Bennington, VT, his four daughter’s; Debbie Reed of Bennington, VT, Wendy Douglass of Peterborough, NH, Tracy Provensal of Bennington, VT and Bonnie Provensal of Arlington, VT, his brother and sister-in-law, William and Jean Provensal of Hoosick Falls, NY, his grandchildren; Amie Niles, Jeremy Reed, Jerrica Reed, Heather (Zachary) Huntley, Erin Douglass, Justin Spencer and Jenna Spencer, his great grandchildren; Keegan Niles, Korbin Niles, Emery Burdick, Finleigh Burdick, Jaxson Reed and Cooper Reed, his niece and nephew; Kimberly (Mary Catherine) Provensal of Derry, NH and Scott Provensal of Salem, MA, and his great nieces and nephews, Colleen and Clara Provensal and Jasper and Cora Provensal. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by two sons-in-law, Steven Krawczyk and Tim Douglass and two brothers-in-law, Butch Farrington and Jack Griffin. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Sacred Heart/St. Francis de Sales Church in Bennington, VT on Thursday April 4, 2024, at 11:00 AM. A reception in the church hall will follow the mass. Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington, VT on Wednesday April 3, 2024 from 4-6 PM.
