RICHARD RANTTILA
BENNINGTON, VERMONT
Richard A. Ranttila, age 62, a resident of Harbour Rd. in Bennington, died at home following a brief illness.
He was born in Warren, OH, on January 11, 1956, and was the son of the late Paul and Phyllis (Shirey) Ranttila. Richard received his education in Ohio and attended The Ohio State University. . He served in the Army and was a retiree. Prior to joining the military, he had been a History Teacher.
They moved to Bennington, and he went to work at Price Chopper in Bennington.
Besides his wife, the former Karen Barriere, he is survived by three children: Amanda of Salem, MA, Emily of Fredericksburg, VA and Jacob of Bennington, who is attending college in West Virginia.
He also leaves one sister, Robin Moyer of Ohio, and one brother Jack Ranttila of Illinois. He also leaves his in laws, Arthur and Donna Barriere of Bennington, one brother-in-law, Michael Barriere of Shaftsbury, VT, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at 6:00PM at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St. Bennington, VT. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00pm until the time of the service.
Interment will take place privately in Warren, Ohio.
