Richard Franklin Niles

November 28, 1956 — December 8, 2017

Richard Franklin "Richie" Niles, 61, a resident of Bradford Street in Bennington, VT died peacefully Friday December 8, 2017 at the Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness.

He was born in Troy, New York November 28, 1956. He was the son of the late Harold Niles Sr. and Carrie (Olden) Niles. He received his education in Hoosick Falls and was a graduate of Hoosick Falls Central School.

Richard was employed as the head custodian at Cambridge Central School. He enjoyed woodworking.

Survivors include his wife Carolyn L. Niles of Bennington. His step children, Richard Sweet (Shelley), John Sweet (Carol), Carolyn "Missy" Sweet, Scott Sweet and David Sweet. Many grandchildren. A sister Nancy Fortin (Steve) and a brother Fred Niles.
He was pre-deceased by a son, Jerry Sweet and two brothers and a sister, Ernest, Ronnie and Harriet Niles.

At Richard's request there will be no calling hours or funeral services.

A graveside service will be held at the family lot at Hinsdiville Cemetery in North Bennington at a time to be announced in the spring.
