RICHARD JONES OBITUARY

Richard D. Jones, age 61, a resident of BenMont Avenue in Bennington died on Sunday, May 2, 2021, following a short battle with Colon Cancer.
He was born in Bennington on January 25, 1960 and was the son of the late Norman Jones and Janet (Cameron) Jones who survives. He received his education in local schools. He married the former Wannetta Hollis on July 17, 1981. She survives. For many years, he was the caretaker for his son, Michael. Richard was a member of the North Bennington Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Besides his mother, wife and son Michael, he is survived by one daughter, Nicole Jones-Pearson and her partner Joshua Clinder of Bennington, two grandchildren: Ashlyn Harmon and Kinlee Pearson. Richard leaves two brothers and sisters-in-law; Jimmy and Lisa Jones of Shushan, New York, and John and Patty Jones of Cambridge, New York. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Matilda Blodgett, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Butch and Barbara Hollis of Bennington, Chris and Kathy Hollis of Shaftsbury, Vermont, Shawn Hollis and Zina Mayer of Bennington, Vermont, Billy and Robin Blodgett of Hudson Falls, New York and Rebecca Blodgett and Tim Harrington of Shaftsbury, Vermont and many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
Services will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 6:30 PM at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 PM, until the time of the service.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 2;00 p.m. at Jermaine Hall in White Creek. All relatives and friends are invited.
