Richard “Dick” Hall passed away peacefully November 21st, 2023. Born in North Petersburgh, New York, he later met and married the love of his life Barbara Jean Hewson on September 3rd, 1965. Shortly after, they moved to Vermont and began a family. Richard was totally devoted to his loving wife Barbara of 52 years, who died March 10th, 2017. Together they spent their lives raising and enjoying their family. Dick worked at Stanley Works for a short time, then Eveready Battery Company Bennington through retirement. He later worked part-time with Hemmings Motor News (the Popcorn Man), followed by several years with the Bennington County Sheriff’s Department. He enjoyed time with his family first and foremost, snowmobiling, hunting, was an avid Kenny Tremont 115 fan, enjoyed hanging out with his Jean’s Diner family, loved chewing the fat with friends and family, and loved playing practical jokes. Richard is predeceased by his wife Barbara Jean Hall, daughter Karen (Hall) Madison, and three sisters, Barbara Danforth, Jean Brooks, and Linda Grover. Survivors include his sons, Scot Hall (Beth) and Robert Hall (Angela); grandchildren Eli Hall, Ehryn Hall, Steven Madison, Terry Coonradt (Maria), Kenneth Trimble (Rachael), Tiffany (Hall) McKenna (Ryan), Richard Hall (Kendra), and Michael Hall (Kaila); nine great-grandchildren; his sister Dawn (Hall) Tripp; a sister-in-law and close friend Alice Tetreault; brother-in-law and close friend Bill Danforth; along with extensions of loving family and friends. Calling hours will be held at Mahar Funeral Home, in Bennington, Vermont on Tuesday, November 28th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. A private committal service will be held at St. John the Baptist cemetery in North Bennington.
