Richard C. Belluzzi, 70, a resident of Pageant St in Bennington, passed away on February 2nd, 2020, at the Vermont Veteran's Home after a long illness.
Richard was born July 24th, 1949, in the Bronx, NY to the late Violet (Bertolini) & Carmine Belluzzi. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Yonkers, NY in 1967, after which he was drafted into the Vietnam War. He served from 1969 to 1970. Upon his return, he worked for AT&T, later Lucent Technologies, until his retirement in 2000.
Richard was an avid Yankees fan who enjoyed bowling, westerns, and professional wrestling. For years he was an usher at St. John the Baptist in Yonkers, NY. He had a glowing personality and wouldn't hesitate to help a friend; every winter he could be found shoveling the neighborhood's driveways in his signature t-shirt and jeans. Later in his life, he was blessed with a number caring friends such as Brian, Bill, Winnie, Dino, Millie (mom), and Dr. Salazar.
Richard is survived by his wife Donna (Amadio), son Billy, sister Debra, brother-in-law Michael, niece Alison, nephew Chris, uncle Bob, along with many other family and friends in his large extended family.
Calling hours are Thursday, February 6th, from 5-7pm at E.P. Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St, Bennington. All members of the Bennington Elks Lodge are asked to be at the funeral home at 6:30pm to conduct their services.
The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, February 7th, at 12 noon at Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church, 238 Main St, Bennington.
Burial will take place at the Vermont Veterans' War Memorial Cemetery in Bennington, VT.
