POWNAL- Rexford Frank VanDusen, 58, a resident of Vien Road in Pownal, VT. passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. He was born in Schenectady, NY., on November 25th, 1962 to Anna Mae (Fonda) and Robert J. VanDusen Sr. He was the second youngest of their nine children. Rex received his education at the Galway area schools. However, he left after his first week into his senior year. He left finishing his education to pursue his true passion of working with metal. This made him a perfect fit for a career with Bennington Iron Works until they closed. He then moved back to New York where he worked for various other companies.
Rex loved the beauty of nature and fixing old cars. He loved spending time with animals, especially cats and with his best friend Tommy. Rex enjoyed spending time around a campfire, fishing and visiting with his friends and family. He came from a large family, and always kept his sense of humor. Rex kept a close relationship with the mother of his children, Lynda Deridder. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Rex is survived by his two sons; Nicholas Jay and Rexford James VanDusen, a stepson Joseph Nocian, and a granddaughter Lillian Nocian. His eight siblings; Robert J. VanDusen Jr., James (Tracy) VanDusen, Steven VanDusen, Charles VanDusen, Michael (Krista) VanDusen, Bradley VanDusen, Linda Spaulding and Marilou (Richard) Craft. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents; Anna Mae (Fonda) and Robert J VanDusen Sr., a sister in law, Patricia VanDusen, and a brother in law, Frederick Spaulding.
At Rex's request, there will be no calling hours held. A celebration of Rex's life will be announced at the convenience of the family.
