BENNINGTON
Regan L. Shultz, 68, a resident of Walloomsac Road, Bennington, died Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center following a long illness.
Born in Bennington November 16, 1949, he was the son of the late Elmer Shultz and the former Carrie (Williams) Shultz who survives. Regan received his education in the Bennington schools and was a 1968 graduate of Mt. Anthony Union High School and later received his Associates Degree in Business from St. Josephs College in Bennington.
A veteran of the Vietnam War, Regan served in the U. S. Army during that time. In 1972 he established Shultz Blacktop Paving which he operated until in retirement in 2014.
Regan was a member of American Legion Post 13 and Bennington Elks Lodge 567. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf at the Hoosick Falls Country Club and trips to Lake Willoughby.
Survivors include a daughter, Dr. Jennifer Shultz Anderson, her husband Lars Anderson and their children, Kellan and Sawyer Anderson; his mother, Carrie Shultz of Bennington; a brother and sister-in-law, Douglas and Sarah Shultz of New York; a very special nephew, Michael Shultz, his wife Julie and their son Magnus of Bennington and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Regan was predeceased by his significant other, Barbara Alexander.
The funeral will be held from All Faiths Chapel at the Vermont Veterans Home on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Chaplain Kenneth Coonradt officiating.
Friends may call at the chapel on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
Burial will take place in the Vermont Veterans Home Cemetery in Bennington.
