Rebecca Tatro

BENNINGTON, VT Rebecca L. Tatro, 80, a resident of Bennington, VT, passed away on March 23rd, 2023, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation after a long illness. She was born in Middlebury, VT on October 11th, 1942, to the late George Guyette and Beatrice (Gove) Guyette. She received her education in Bethel, VT, and was a graduate of Whitcomb High School. Rebecca was employed as a Tenant Manager with the Bennington Housing Authority for many years. Rebecca enjoyed puzzles, photography and reorganizing and distributing photos to family and friends. In her early years, she enjoyed riding her motorcycles and bicycles. She adored butterflies and the color rose. Rebecca was generous with her time and cooking skills and especially in early years there were many extra young people found around her dinner table. Survivors include her children: Robert Tatro, Jr. (Kim) of Bay City, Texas, Keith Tatro (Kathy), Terry Tatro, Michelle Tatro and Steven Tatro (Shannon), all of Bennington. Also, fourteen grandchildren, including Vincent Tatro and Aja Tatro, whom she helped raise. She also leaves thirteen great-grandchildren and special friend, Stanley Brookins. Rebecca was predeceased by a sister, Iona Mary Sargeant. At Rebecca’s request, there will be no formal services. Burial will take place in the family lot at Evergreen Cemetery in Arlington, VT at the convenience of the family. Should friends desire, memorial contributions in memory of Rebecca can be made to the Dialysis Unit at SVMC through the office of Mahar & Son’s Funeral Home, 628 Main St. Bennington, Vermont.
