RAYMOND VIVALDI OBITUARY
BENNINGTON, VERMONT
Raymond Vivaldi, age 92, a resident of Bennington, died on Monday morning, July 20, 2020 following a brief illness. He was born in North Adams, MA and was the son of the late Angelo and Elma (Trembley) Vivaldi. He received his education in North Adams, and is a graduate of Drury High School. Raymond served in the Navy during World War II. He married the former Lorraine LaPorte, who has predeceased him.
For many years, Ray had been employed at the former Grand Union Supermarket in Bennington and retired as the Deli Manager. Raymond was a Communicant of Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church in Bennington.
Ray was a former member of the Elks Lodge in Bennington. He was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #307. He had been a volunteer for Meals on Wheels when they lived in Florida, and a volunteer at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington.
Survivors include his daughter: JoAnne (Dennis) Amadon of Bennington, his grandchildren: Lisa (Rick) Zampini of Buxton, ME, Eric (Mary) Ayer of Clinton, OH, Erika (David) Foster of Randalstown, Northern Ireland., and Jessica (Alan) Dean of Madison, CT. He leaves his great grandchildren: Joseph and Julie Zampini, Luke and Abby Hensley, Grace Foster, Hayley, Paige and Mallory Dean, Samantha (Matt) Plasky, Jacob Ayer, and great great grandchildren: Madison and Hazel Plasky.
Besides his wife, Ray is predeceased by two brothers: Robert and Leroy Vivaldi.
Due to the COVID-19 protocols, funeral services will be held on Monday for the family at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington. Burial will take place in Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington.
