Raymond Albert Grover Sr.

Raymond Albert Grover Sr., age 85, of Cherokee, Kansas formally of Sunderland Vermont passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at his home. Raymond was born April 9, 1938 to Albert Henry and Bertha Slason Grover, in East Arlington, Vermont. He married Lina Belle Stevens July 23, 1983 in Wells, Vermont, and worked as a carpenter during his life. In addition to serving our country in the US Army, Raymond served as a volunteer fireman for over 40 years in Vermont. He was also a member of the American Legion for 57 years, in addition to being an avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving Raymond are his wife Lina, of the home; sons, Raymond Albert Grover Jr. (Sarah) of Colo, IA, and Edward Scott Grover (Sharon Ulrich) of Waverly; daughters: Margaret Ann Humphrey (Victor) of Fairbanks, AK, and Kimberly Swartz (Curtis) of Cherokee, KS; brothers: Duane Grover (Diane) of Canyon City, CO, and Kyle Grover (Ann) of Murphysboro, TN; sisters: Shirley Lafley (life partner Ralph), and Elsie Ferman (William) of Fairhaven, VT; many grandchildren, and great grand children. The family will plan a memorial service at a later date.
