Priscilla T. Palmer, 86, widow of Charles B. "Charlie" Palmer a resident of Palmer Drive in Pownal, VT died Wednesday October 13, 2021 at her residence of a broken heart.
She was born in Williamstown, MA March 14, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Armand and Irene (Chenail) Boyer. Priscilla received her education in Williamstown, MA and was a 1953 graduate of Williamstown High School.
She married Charles "B" Charlie Palmer on November 26, 1953 at St. Raphael's Church in Williamstown. Mr. Palmer died February 28, 2020
Priscilla worked as a secretary at the Extension Service at the University of Vermont. She retired in 1976. She later worked for Southern Vermont Orchard at the Apple Barn in Bennington and along with her husband Charlie, took over the family truck farm operation in 1977, wholesaling sweet corn, tomatoes, pumpkins and a variety of small vegetables. They also operated a vegetable stand and pick your own strawberry farm until 1999.
Priscilla also served as treasurer of the Vermont State Holstein Association and also held several offices at the Pownal Methodist Church where she was a member for many years. She enjoyed word puzzles and country music. She especially enjoyed Alan Jackson. Priscilla and Charlie also enjoyed taking the family camper to South Texas for the winter months.
Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Tetreault of East Windsor, CT; a son and daughter in law, Allen and Laura Palmer of Williamstown, VT; two grandchildren, Stephen (Erin) Palmer of Williamstown, MA and Christie Palmer of Pownal; two great grandchildren, Elsa and Boden Palmer,; two step grandchildren, Shannon (Mason) Alexander of Barre, Vt and Adam Boyle of Missouri,; two step great grandchildren, Adeline and Jocelyn Alexander. Her former daughter in law, Cheryl Palmer of Pownal, VT Two sister in laws Mary Louise (Warren) Mason of North Pownal, VT and Clare Boyer of Williamstown, MA along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Priscilla was predeceased by a granddaughter Jana Palmer, a sister Eileen Boyer and her brother Willis Boyer.
The funeral will be held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Saturday October 16, 2021 at 11:30 a.m.
Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
The burial will take place in the family lot at Oak Hill Cemetery in Pownal, VT.
