Phyllis A. Sweet (Whitton)

September 3, 1941 — March 17, 2021

Phyllis A. Sweet, 79, a resident of Pine Circle in Pownal, VT died Wednesday March 17, 2021 at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY following a brief illness.

She was born in Manchester, VT September 3, 1941. She was the daughter of the late James and Evelina (Livingston) Whitton. Phyllis received her education in Arlington, VT and Hoosick Falls, NY.

She was married to Robert F. Sweet. Mr. Sweet died in October 14, 1998

In earlier years Phyllis was employed at Jard in Bennington.

She enjoyed bowling, archery, singing and playing the guitar. Her family and grandchildren were her main interest.

Survivors include her children, Patricia Zinna and her husband Michael of Grafton, NY, Ronald Wideawake of Bennington, William Wideawake of Pownal, VT, Philip Wideawake of Pownal and Tammy Foster and her husband John of Troy, NY. Fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. A brother Ronald Whitton of Hoosick Falls, NY and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by a son, Ralph Wideawake and a sister, Janice Sweet.

The calling hours and funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

The burial will take place in the family lot at White Chapel Cemetery in Bennington.
