Philip E. "Flip" Watson, 77, a resident of Mattison Road, Shaftsbury, died Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Bennington Health & Rehab following a long illness."¨"¨
Born in Bennington on August 25, 1941, he was the son of the late Robert and Evelyn (Jones) Watson. Flip married the former JoAnn Shaw at the Baptist Church in North Bennington on June 18, 1966."¨"¨
Flip owned and operated Flip's Fabrication and Welding for many years. He was a highly respected welder, fabricator, machinist and blacksmith. He also was employed at Bennington Lanes for 22 years."¨"¨
An avid outdoorsman, Flip enjoyed hunting, fishing and his Harleys. He was also a proud member of the "Over the Hill Yogurt Gang"."¨"¨
Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Watson of Shaftsbury; two daughters, Heidi (Joseph) Maccioli of Bennington and Heather (Joseph) Miner of Northwood, NH; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Lawrence Watson of Stony Point, NY and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Flip was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters, Nina Morrison, Robert Watson Jr., Shirley Brown, Roberta Morin, Beverly Schultz, Patricia Stuber, Priscilla Stuber and Sandra Watson."¨"¨
At Flip's request private services will be held at the convenience of the family."¨"¨
