Peter Fraser White, 63, of Bennington, died peacefully at home on October 6, 2024 following a brief illness.
He was born on August 5, 1961 in Bennington to Henry E. White and Betty White. He attended local schools and graduated from Mt. Anthony Union High School in 1980, where he was an outstanding athlete in football, wrestling, and baseball.
Pete married Andrea Flynn White on March 11, 1990. He was employed by VTRANS for many years.
He was a lifetime avid hunter and fisherman. He was a long-time member and past President of the Pittstown Beagle Club. He was also a member of the Catamount Bow Hunters and the Hale Mountain Fish and Game Club. For decades, he owned a camp in Searsburg, VT where family and friends enjoyed joining him for hunting, playing cards, and cribbage. He also liked to read books. He was an honest, hard-working family man.
In addition to his wife of 34 years - Andrea, and his mother - Betty, Pete is survived by his son Ben (Alexandria “Aly”), four grandchildren: Fletcher, Karter, Declyn, and Mackenzie. Two sisters, Debby (Buford) Hall of Versailles, Kentucky, and Nancy White of Bennington. Also three sisters-in-law: Beth (Rick) Ferrannini, Karen (Bob) Elwell, and Eileen (Pat) Bakaitis, all of Hoosick Falls, NY. Pete also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
At Pete’s request, there will be no calling hours or funeral services. A Celebration of Life will be held on November 16, 2024 from 11:00-2:00 pm at the Bennington Elks Carriage House. Guests are encouraged to bring stories and memories to share.
