Pearl H. Peacock Davenport Stergas, 92, a lifelong resident of Shaftsbury, died Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Rivers Edge Community Care Home following a brief illness.
She was born in Bennington, VT on June 24, 1923.
In earlier years Pearl was employed at Tansitor Electronics for twenty-nine years until the time of her retirement.
She was a member of the Shaftsbury Methodist Church, a member of the 140 Club in Shaftsbury and also volunteered at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.
For many years during the winter months Pearl and her former husband Albert Stergas resided in Orange City, Florida where she was an active member of the Red Hat Society. Her family and friends were her passion and joy.
Survivors include a son, Duane S. (Ann) Peacock Sr. of Shaftsbury; a daughter, Brenda (David MacLean) Lewis of Swanzey, NH; ; eight grandchildren, Brent Dana Peacock, Bonna-Dee (Tony) Zazzaro, Terry (Michell) Thompson, Traci (Jason) Smith, Duane P. (Marci) Peacock Jr., Diane, Brad and Erin Peacock; six great-grandchildren, Zoey and Amelia Zazzaro, Kira Smith, Mason Peacock, Zachery Carson and Jeremy Hart and a daughter-in-law, Carol Peacock. She was predeceased by a son, George Brent Peacock who died in 2015.
At Pearl's request there will be no services held.
Burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery.
