PAUL LaFOUNTAIN, SR. OBITUARY
ARLINGTON, VERMONT

Paul A. LaFountain, Sr. a resident of Arlington, died on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born in Milton, VT on April 4, 1948. He received his education in Milton Schools. Mr. LaFountain, a Vietnam Veteran served with Recon Platoon, 1st Battalion 20th Infantry, 11th American Division from 1968-1969. He received two Purple Hearts and two Bronze Star Medals one with "V" device, 1st Oak Leaf Cluster for injuries sustained in combat. He married the former Linda Colvin in Milton, VT on December 16, 1967. Paul worked at Johnson Controls in Bennington for twenty-four years. He was Club Manager at American Legion Post #69 for fifteen years. He is an Honorary Life Member Vietnam Veterans and Life Member Military Order of the Purple Heart. Paul also was a Life Member of the DAV. His favorite past time was playing golf at Windy Hills in Greenwich, with his special friends. He enjoyed shooting darts, playing shuffle board with his buddies at the Greenwich Legion and his yearly trip to Santee with his close friends. Paul also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and especially his wife Linda. He is predeceased by his parents, Edward and Gloria LaFountain and his brother Carl LaFountain.
He leaves his wife Linda of 50 years. A daughter Laura Jamieson and husband Dan, his son Paul, Jr. and his wife Amy. He leaves his grandchildren: Ashley and Daniel Jamieson and Alex, Nicole, Joshua LaFountain. Paul is survived by four brothers: Edward, Gordon, Ronald, and his wife Laura, Randall and his wife Lisa, as well as six sisters; Virginia Reid, Paulette Sweetser and her husband Stillman, Joyce, Donna and her husband Richard Bidwell, Marie Hill and her husband Phil, Melanie Porwitzky and her husband Mike, as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Spring of 2019 at the Vermont Veterans Cemetery in Randolph, VT at a time to be announced.
