Paul H. Lachance, 50, a resident of Bennington, VT, died suddenly on Tuesday evening, at his home. He was born in Bennington and was the son of Marilyn (Surdam) Weglarz and the late Herve Lachance. Paul received his education in Bennington county schools and was a jack-of-all-trades, working several odd jobs over the years. He was an avid sports fan and spent much of his youth participating in athletics. In his later years, he developed a fondness for films, card games, and electronics.
Along with his mother, Paul is survived by two sons: Dustin M. Lachance of Methuen, MA, and Zachary P. Lachance of Charlotte, NC, and one daughter Logan A. Lachance of Bennington, VT. Paul leaves behind two brothers: Scott Holland of Wells, ME & his wife Donna, Michael Lachance of Indiana and two sisters: Donna Ely & her long-term partner Robert Hamilton of Bennington and Dawn Taylor of Manchester, VT. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and his dog Lola. Paul is predeceased by his life companion, Courtney Jaenecke (d.2008), his sister Celine Lachance (d.2016), and his stepfather Glenn Weglarz (d.1999). Due to the current COVID-19 protocol, a private funeral service for the family & friends will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2020 in Bennington. There will be no calling hours.
