Patricia Ellen Harrington, widow of Duane E. Harrington, a resident of Richards Drive, Bennington, died unexpectedly of natural causes at her home on Friday, December 30, 2016.
Born in Shushan, NY on May 18, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Florence (Sears) Grosebeck. Pat received her education in the Cambridge, NY Schools.
Pat and Duane were married in Bennington on May 20, 1960. Duane died November 8, 2013.
In earlier years Pat was employed at Bennington Brush, Nancy Shoe Company, Arlington Inn and Best Western. Prior to her retirement Pat had served as a care giver at several private homes in the area.
Pat was a Life Member of the VFW Post 1332 Auxiliary, attended Bennington Project Independence and enjoyed bingo, reading, bird watching, puzzles and her favorite cat, Tabby.
Survivors include her children, Debra (John) Adams of Mississippi, Beth Harrington (Pat Moffitt) of Shaftsbury, Duane (Cindy) Harrington of Bennington and Wayne (Patricia Squiers) of Bennington; ten grandchildren, Duane Jr., Joseph, April, Matt, Britney, Josh, Wayne Elliott, Maegan, Becky and Lyle and several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Grace Jennings of Hoosick Falls, NY and Lucy-Mae Carey of Arizona and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Pat was predeceased by ten siblings, Edward Jr., Viola, Ceola, Bobby, Gene, Bill, Ann, Sarah, Kenny and Mildred.
Memorial services celebrating the life of Patricia Harrington will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 2:00 pm.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.
Burial will take place in the family lot in West Arlington at the convenience of the family.
