Patricia A. Bratcher, 77, a resident of East Court in Pownal, VT. died Tuesday December 13, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her family following a long illness.
She was born in Bennington, VT July 30, 1939. Patricia was the daughter of the late Victor and Leona (Saldo) Damour. She received her education in Bennington where she attended Bennington Catholic High School and graduated from Bennington High School.
She married Stanley Bratcher on January 27, 1962 at Saint Francis de Sales Church in Bennington.
In earlier years Patricia was employed as a teller at several area banks including, County National Bank and Chittenden Bank. She later worked in the billing department at Putnam Memorial Hospital and later worked at Vermont National Bank from which she retired to care for her mother.
She was an active parishioner of Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church. Patty was an artist and enjoyed painting and poetry. She also enjoyed crocheting and knitting clothing that she donated to local schools and jails. Patty along with her husband enjoyed camping, especially in Maine and Cape Cod.
Survivors include her husband Stanley Bratcher of Pownal, VT, two daughters, Beth Ann Gardner and Cheryl Lynn Gerow and her husband Shawn all of Pownal; Five grandchildren, Cody and Cayla Gardner and Taylor, Brady and Alexa Gerow; A brother Richard Damour and his wife Joan of Bennington, her former son in law, Michael Gardner Jr. and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be held at Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church on Friday December 16, 2016 at 3:00 pm. where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered.
The burial will take place in the family lot at Oak Hill Cemetery in Pownal, VT in the spring.
