PATRICE "FRENCHY" LANTEIGNE OBITUARY
POWNAL, VERMONT
Patrice J.A. "Frenchy" Lanteigne, age 87, a resident of Pownal, died on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center following a short illness.
He was born in New Brunswick, Canada on February 21, 1932 to Carolus and Justine Lanteigne of N. Brunswick Canada.
Patrice married the former Mildred Martin in 1954 whom he had 6 children with. While Patrice lived in Canada he worked as a line men for an electric company. During this job he lost his third finger on his left hand his joke to the grandchildren was "I bit it off". Patrice moved to the United States in his 20's. He later married Arlene (Greene) Lanteigne having one more child and gaining two step daughters. Patrice was a self employed contractor and handy man among other employment opportunities. Patrice loved Canadian and country music he would sing and whistle while he worked. He loved to collect all things and was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever needed.
Patrice is survived by his children: Maurice, Normand, Murielle, Micheline, Marcel, Michel, Patrice (Patrick), Jr. and step daughter Patty. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, niece, and nephews. Patrice held dearly his Ex-daughter in law Pam Conley, two granddaughters: Arlene Lanteigne, Alijah Lanteigne, and great granddaughter Callie Winchell. He is predeceased by his parents Carolus and Justine Lanteigne, Arlene and Mildred (Wives), one step daughter Sandy, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Patrice's family would like to thank the community for all the people who helped our family while his dementia was increasing. It really does take a village and we are grateful for ours!
The family will be holding a celebration of life at the upper pavilion of Willow Park on Saturday August 17th 2019 from 1:00pm- Conclusion all are welcome.
The Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington is assisting the family at this time.
