Neil M. Hoag, 82, a resident of Notch Road in Woodford, VT died Monday May 29, 2023 at his residence following a brief illness. He was born in Bennington, Vermont May 13, 1941. He was the son of the late Frank and Blanche (Surdam) Hoag. He received his early education at Sacred Heart School in Bennington and was a graduate of Bennington High School. He served in the Army National Guard. He married the former Donna L. Davis on November 3, 1962. For many years Neil owned and operated H&H Pools in Bennington. He later owned H&H Charters. Neil was a member of the Bennington Elks Lodge and Moose Club. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. In earlier years Neil raced Dirt Bikes, was a pilot, charter boat captain and enjoyed woodworking. Survivors include his wife, Donna L. Hoag of Woodford, Vt. A son Neil F. “Chip” Hoag and Laura of Pownal, VT and a daughter, Terri L. Willard and Pete of Bennington, VT. Six grandchildren, Chastity, Alexis, Christina, Ashley, Natasha and Kasondra. Seven great grandchildren, Skyler, Peyton, Tayvor, Arlow, Jaxtyn, Marley and Sadie. A brother Gary Hoag and Sue of Woodford, VT. Along with several nieces, nephew’s and cousins. He was pre-deceased by a half brother, Francis Hoag and a half sister, Margaret Bull. There will be no calling hours or funeral services. A graveside service will be held at Park Lawn Cemetery on Friday June 2, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. If friends desire contributions in memory of Neil M.
