NATALIE SEALE OBITUARY
Bennington, Vermont
Natalie Jean Pomeroy Seale, age 90, a resident of the Centers for Nursing and Health Care in Hoosick Falls, NY, died on Friday, January 13, 2017.
She was born on January 4, 1927 in Granville, NY and was the daughter of the late Lewis and Edith (Millard) Pomeroy. She attended schools in Granville and was a graduate of Granville High School in 1944. Following high school, she attended Plattsburgh State Teachers College School of Nursing and graduated in 1947. She was a licensed RN. Natalie also attended Cortland State Teachers College in the Physical Education Program.
Over the years, she has been employed at several hospitals working the maternity floor; starting at Mary McClellean Hospital in Cambridge, NY, Samaritan Hospital in Troy, Providence Hospital in Anchorage, AK, Boston Lying-In Hospital in Boston, MA and Putnam Memorial Hospital in Bennington, VT.
She married Robert B. Seale on September 6, 1952 at the Granville NY Baptist Church, and had been married for over sixty years. Mr. Seale died on November 2, 2014.
She is a member of the Second Congregational Church in Bennington, and Treasurer of the Snowball Bizarre for many years.
She also volunteered at the Bennington College Early Childhood Center, Sunrise Resource Center, and the front desk at SVMC. She later took a job at the Sunrise Resource Center for the three to five year olds. Starting the swim Program at Sunrise for that group.
Natalie also owned and operated Beecher's Drug Store with her husband Bob for thirteen years. She was an avid bowler, and enjoyed playing bridge, doing crossword puzzles, and Soduko and attending high school sports.
Survivors include, two sons John F. Seale and his partner Valeda McLenithan of Shushan, NY and Robert and his wife Elizabeth of San Diego, CA, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Natalie has one brother and sister-in-law: Ray and Betty Pomeroy of West Rotonda, FL, one niece and one nephew, two grandnephews, two great grandnephews and one great grandniece and a cousin Don Hodges of Flushing, MI. Natalie leaves three special friends: April Mayer, Susan Loveland and Mary Johnson and her two caregivers Lisa and Maria.
Service will be held at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St, Bennington on Saturday morning, January 21, 2017 at 11;30 AM. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00AM until the time of the service
Burial will take place in Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington.
