Nancy E Morin (Root)

March 17, 1939 — December 9, 2020

Nancy E. Morin, 81, a former resident of Bennington, Vermont and more recently of Pittsfield, MA died Wednesday December 9, 2020 at the Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility in Pittsfield following a brief illness.

She was born on Saint Patrick's Day in Littleton, New Hampshire March 17, 1939. Nancy was the daughter of the late John and Lenore (Kendall) Root. She was a graduate of Bennington High School.

She married Leo Morin. Mr. Morin died September 4, 1989.

In earlier years Nancy worked very hard to support her young family. She was employed for several years at Johnson Controls in Bennington and most recently was employed at O'Connell Fuels in Lanesboro, MA from which she retired.

Nancy enjoyed knitting, crocheting and watching television.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Kimberley Hurlbut and James of North Charleston, South Carolina, Sharon Sallisky and Joe of Dallastown, PA and Mark Higgins of Bennington and Michael Higgins and Lori of Bennington. A stepson, Michael Morin and Pamela of Adams, MA. Nine grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Two sisters, Audrey Moon and Holly Downey and a brother Robert Jones. Along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

At Nancy's request there will be no calling hours or funeral services.

The burial will take place in the family lot at Saint John's Cemetery in North Bennington at the convenience of the family.
