Nancy L. Foster-Bousquet, of Morehaven, FL and of Route 7 Hoosick, New York, passed away in Florida on January 22, 2025. Nancy was born in Bennington, VT on May 25, 1935, the daughter of the late Alfred and Wilma (Montgomery) Rice. Nancy received her education in Arlington, VT and later attended Mount Ida College where she studied to be an airline stewardess.
Nancy was first married to the late Gordon L. Foster. She later married Wayne Bousquet on May 25, 2001.
For 25 years Nancy was employed at Knapps in Bennington. She also worked at the Mount Anthony Union High School as a cashier in the lunchroom, a study hall supervisor and also in the attendance office. For many years she owned and operated the Maple Town Inn Bed and Breakfast in Hoosick, New York.
In earlier years Nancy was a 4H and Cub Scout leader. While wintering in Florida Nancy was a member of the Glades County Sheriffs Office Citizens on Patrol. Nancy enjoyed quilting, working with stained glass, stenciling and refinishing and caning furniture. She was very competitive and was “a heck of a pea knuckle player.” Nancy also gave horseback riding lessons. Both Nancy and Wayne enjoyed Bluegrass music.
Nancy is survived by her children, Ramona Chase of Ludlow, VT, Heidi Tilley (Mark) of Woodford, VT, Lance Foster (Tammy) of Arlington, VT, Preston Foster (Mary) of Bennington, VT and Heather Patrie (Russell W. Jr.) of Troy, NY. She is also survived by step-children, James Foster of Manchester, VT, Gladys Trudeau of Plattsburgh, NY, Edward Bousquet of West Plattsburgh, NY, Lois Brown (Alan) of Plattsburgh, NY, John Bousquet (Sandy) of Plattsburgh, NY, Tina Wood of Plattsburgh, NY and Tammy Bousquet of Plattsburgh, NY., 43 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and two brothers, William Rice of Randolph, VT and Rodney Rice of Shaftsbury, VT. She was predeceased by two sons, Sterling Foster and John Foster.
A Graveside Service will be held for Nancy on May 17, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the family lot in Maple Hill Cemetery Shaftsbury, VT.
