Myron Raymond “Mike” Lake, Sr., of Pownal, VT, passed away on July 31, 2023, at the Rutland Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Mike was born in Bennington, VT on April 15, 1950, the son of Robert C. Sr., and Eva May (McDonald) Lake. Mike served in the United States Army from 1966-71 and was stationed in Korea. Mike played country music with the “Laredo Band” which consisted of members, Bing Buell, John Dyson, Arnold Russell and Mike. He, along with Jesse King, managed the 1992 Mountaineers Softball team which won the championship in Arlington. In 1998 and 1999 Mike and Bobby Sears coached the Lakers softball team to back-to-back State Championships. Mike enjoyed wrestling and was an avid New York Giants and New York Yankees fan. He is survived by his children; Myron R. Lake, Jr., Eva (Rick Pecor) Lake, April (Lenny) Lake, Danielle (Ali Keita) Lake, Bubba Lake, Robert Lake, James Lake, William (Ashley) Lake, Santana Martin and Veronica Lake. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a sister, Rosanna Baker, brothers-in-law, Robert Squires and Jack Snide, sister-in-law, Patricia Lake, his ex-wives; Alice Farrell and Carrie Bender, some very special people in his life; Brian Stone, Wendy Jean Hall and Shaun Caccamo Lake and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Tafana Sousis, brothers; Robert Lake, Jr., and Charles Lake, Sr., and Amos Brimmer, sisters; Elizabeth Squires and Veronica Snide and a daughters-in-law, Maria Lake, and Tracy Phillips Lake. Funeral services for Myron Lake will be held on Saturday August 5, 2023, at 11:00 Am at the Mahar Funeral Home in Bennington. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Friday August 4 from 5-7 PM.
