Myron H. "Butch" Greene, Jr. ,61, a resident of East Road, Shaftsbury, died at his home on Sunday, March 20, 2016 surrounded by family following a long illness.
He was born in Bennington on May 2, 1954, son of the late Myron and Norma (Langlois) Greene, Sr. Butch received his education in the Shaftsbury and Bennington schools. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War who proudly served in the U. S. Marine Corp in Okinawa during that time.
For many years Butch worked construction with his Dad before going out on his own.
Butch very much enjoyed hunting from the family camp in Peru and also traveling to Delaware where he stayed with his sister and brother-in-law, Paula and Dennis and with his good friends Dan, Dennis, Wesley and Bernie.
He is survived by four sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandra and Kevin Dunican, Shelley and Abel LeBlanc and Deborah and Bernard McDonald, all of Bennington and Paula and Dennis Horan of Magnolia, Delaware as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. Butch is predeceased by a sister, Ellen Emily Greene.
Graveside committal services will be held on Friday, March 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the family lot in Waite Cemetery in Shaftsbury, with Mr. Kenneth Coonradt, Chaplain of the Vermont Veterans Home officiating.
There are no calling hours scheduled.
