Monte L. Bushee Sr.
December 31, 1969 — October 20, 2018
He was born in Bennington, Vermont April 28, 1937. He was the son of the late Leonard and Faye (Sparks) Bushee. He received his education in Bennington and attended Bennington High School.
He served in the Vermont National Guard.
Monte had been employed at Stanley Tools in Shaftsbury, Vermont for many years.
He was a former member of the Bennington Rural Fire Department and served as President of the Hale Mountain Rod and Gun Club for many years. An avid outdoorsman, Monte enjoyed hunting, fishing and collecting guns. He also volunteered with the youth bowling team in Bennington.
Survivors include, his partner Alice Sherman of Bennington, his children, Monte "Bucky" Bushee Jr. and his wife Sherri of Bennington, Mark Bushee of Bennington, Cindy Hester of Orlando, Florida, Matthew Bushee Sr. of Bennington, Amy Bushee of Virginia, Corey Bushee of Bennington and Peggy Sherman of Clifton Park, NY. Nineteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. A brother Bill Bushee and his wife Judy of South Carolina, two sisters, Faye Larriviere of Hoosick, N.Y. and Janet Sausville of Bennington and a sister in law Janice Bushee of Pownal, VT, a long with several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by a brother John Bushee.
A Celebration of Monte's life will be held at the Bennington Fire Department on River St. in Bennington on Saturday October 27, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
