Millie Harrington

Millie F. Harrington, 89, a resident of Bennington, Vermont, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on June 4th, 2024. Born on September 10th, 1934 in Bennington, Vermont. She was the daughter of the late Theodore and Martha (Cross) Morse. Millie was raised in Bennington and attended St Francis Academy and later graduated from Bennington High School. On July 21st, 1951, Millie married Lawrence E. “Moe” Harrington at St John the Baptist Catholic Church in North Bennington, Vermont. Millie and Moe lived and raised their family in Bennington; later wintering in Ruskin, Florida For many years. They were married for nearly 68 years when Mr. Harrington passed away on March 24th, 2019. For many years, Millie worked as a Waitress, and at Union Carbide in Bennington. She also owned and operated a restaurant, as well as a furniture store with her husband at one time. Millie was a member of the Moose Lodge in Bennington and the Red Hat Society in Ruskin, FL. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially her grand and great grandchildren. Millie also enjoyed; drawing, painting and line dancing. Millie is predeceased by her husband of 67 years Lawrence “Moe” Harrington. Her beloved grandsons; Jeffrey Mattson and Mike Paulin. As well as, her sister; JoAnn Hulett. Survivors include her children; Mike Harrington (Debbie), Kim Harrington, Chris Harrington (Jennifer), Bonnie Bennett, Colleen Harrington, and Brian Harrington (Andrea). Her sibilings; Lucille Greene, Theodore Morse (Shirley), Rosemary Green, Mary Murray (Ernie), Jerry Morse (Lori), and Martha Ann Davis (Mark). Her grandchildren; Jenn Stratton, Leah Cross (Nick), Justin Harrington, Michelle Harrington, Jamie Harrington, Kyle Harrington, Chad Harrington, Evan Harrington, Ashley Bump, Richie Bump, Leah Marchand, Alyssa Marchand, Sara Harrington, Bryn Harrington, and Sage Guile. Her great grandchildren; Brandon Guerard, Madison Guerard, Abigail Harrington, Ella Harrington, Haley Harrington, Karen Harrington, Korey Harrington, Lincoln Harrington, Faiella Harrington, Kolton Harrington, Hunter Stratton, Brogan Stratton, Peyton Stratton, Sophia Hawley, Marleigh Bump, and Jackson Harrington . As well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Calling hours for Millie will be held on Monday June 10th, 2024 at 6pm till 8pm at Mahar Funeral Home in Bennington. A funeral mass will be held at 12:00pm on Tuesday June 11th at Sacred Heart Saint Francis De Sales Church in Bennington. Following the mass, there will be a graveside committal service at White Chapel Cemetery in Bennington. If friends should desire, contributions in memory of Millie may be made directly to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
