Millicent "Millie" Mize (Crandall)

February 24, 1942 — January 26, 2022

Millicent "Millie" Mize, 79, a resident of School St in Bennington, Vermont passed away after a short illness on January 26th, 2022 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.
She was born on February 24th, 1942 in Petersburg, New York, in the middle of the road, to the late James and Annabel (Goodell) Crandall.

She grew up with her siblings at Vanderheyden in Troy. Millie graduated from Troy High School #16. She was employed at the Salvation Army before leaving work to take care of her family. During the 1980's, she lived in Cleveland, Texas for eight years. She was a homebody, who enjoyed spending her time doing crossword puzzles and watching television. She was a huge fan of Elvis Presley and John Wayne.

Millie is survived by her children; Laurie (James) Bentley, of Grafton, NY, Wayne Grover, of Grafton, NY, Brenda (Bruce) Sabastino, Missy Grover, Joyce Grover and John Jr (Linda) Grover. Her grandchildren; Jenna, Jeremiah, Jackie Ray, Melissa Ann, Whitney, Brittany and Chris (Kelly). Millie is also survived by her great grandchildren; Sophie, Skylar, Sadie, Shawn Jr. and Jackie Crandall Jr. Step great grandchildren; Brianna Morse, Caleb Morse, Kyra Morse. Step great great grandchildren; Grayson Morse Thompson, Raven Morse Thompson, Patrick Morse III and Ryker Morse. Her siblings; Eva, Jeanette, Helen, Carrie, Ramona, Ellen, John Jr., and Wayne, a brother in law Big Jack, and nieces, nephews and cousins. Millie is also survived by her dog Skip.

She was predeceased by her spouse, John J. Grover, two daughters; Helen and Karen, two sisters; Pam and Pearl. An uncle, Charles Harrington. Millie was also predeceased by a grandson, James John Bentley, and a great grandson, Bryson Ivory Lassiter.

Friends and family are invited to call on February 5th, 2022 to the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, from 10-11am. At 11am there will be a service for Millie. Burial at the family lot in Petersburg will take place at a later date, at the convenience of the family.
