Michelle Ann Niles

She was born in Bennington, Vermont on December 11, 1956 to Annette (LaFlamme) and Richard Rice. She was raised in North Bennington and graduated from Mt. Anthony Union High School in 1974. In earlier years she was a cashier for many local grocery stores. Later she worked as a dental secretary.
Michelle married Peter S. Niles, the love of her life, on October 11, 1975. They were married for nearly 45 years.
Michelle loved spending time outside, walking in the Mile Around Woods, and foraging for mushrooms. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and crafting beautiful and unique things.
Michelle loved her family more than anything, especially her grandchildren. She found pleasure in singing and in line dancing. Michelle had a huge heart, and a real devotion to the underdog and her Basset Hound, Murphy.
Michelle is survived by her mother, Annette Rice; her three children; Laura (Amadon) Niles, Matt (Dawn) Niles, and Ben (Stephanie) Niles. Her five grandchildren: Keegan, Mazie, Korbin, Blake and Eli. Her three sisters; Sandra Rhode, Tammy Gerity, and Karen Moriarty, and a brother, Richard Rice Jr.
Michelle is also survived by a dear friend Mary Hazelton, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral mass for Michelle will be held at St. John the Baptist Church in North Bennington, Vermont at 11:00am on Saturday July 23rd 2022. Burial will follow in the family lot at St. John's Cemetery.
