Michael Howard Sherman (Sherman)

STAMFORD, VERMONT

Michael Howard Sherman, age 67, a resident of Stamford, VT died on Monday, March 26, 2018 at his home following a brief illness.

He was born in Burlington, VT on January 30, 1951, and was the son of Howard and Evelyn Sherman.

He had lived in Arlington, VT in younger years, and then Bennington and retired to Stamford, VT.

Over the years, Michael has worked at Bellemare Furniture Company in Bennington until they closed, then more recently had worked at Garelick Farms, until his retirement.

He was an avid fisherman, and loved riding his motorcycle. He was a member of the Freedom Riders, the Patriot Riders and the Harley Owners Group (HOGS). He also enjoyed camping, woodworking, and spending time with the grandchildren.

He married the former Deborah Root on September 16, 1993, she survives him.

In addition to his wife, he has one daughter, Jeannette VonFeldt (Shawn Harney) of Newfane, VT, his sons: Don (Brandi) Dellenbaugh of Cheyenne, WY, Glen Dellenbaugh of Big Springs, TX, David Dellenbaugh of Boston, MA and Steven Sherman of Bennington, VT. and a son-in-law, Jon VonFeldt.

He leaves his grandchildren: Darius VonFeldt, Brittany VonFeldt, Brandon VonFeldt, Allison Harney, Jessica Dellenbaugh, Alisha Dellenbaugh, Sadie Dellenbaugh, Chance Dellenbaugh, Elaine Dellenbaugh, Brooklyn Dellenbaugh, and Brandon Mitchell Sherman as well as several great grandchildren.

He is predeceased by one daughter, Michelle Sherman.

A Celebration of his life will be held at the family home.

The Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington is assisting the family at this time.
