Mary L. Betit, 55, a resident of Little Brook Lane in Pownal, VT died Sunday June 26, 2022 at the Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, MA following a brief illness.
She was born in Carthage, NY March 3, 1967. She was the daughter of the late Theodore and Maxine (Ruff) Tifft. Mary received her education in Bennington and was a graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School.
She married Leo Betit on June 15, 1991 and just celebrated their 31st anniversary.
Mary had been the longest employed employee at Wild Oats Market in Williamstown, MA. Serving for 14 years. She was so loved by staff members and customers.
She enjoyed crafts including, knitting, sewing and crocheting. She enjoyed reading and watching the hummingbirds come to the feeders. She also enjoyed camping and target shooting. Her most favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Leo Betit of Pownal, VT. Their children, Courtney Spencer and Nathan of North Carolina, Camdon Betit and Tiffany of Bennington and Alicia Betit and Julio of North Carolina. Six grandchildren, Jadyn, Madysen and Hayden Spencer and Parker, Maci and Kaylin Betit. Two brothers, Theodore Tifft Jr. and Debbie of Pownal, Ernie Tifft and Jessica of Bennington and a sister, Tammy Tifft Bisson of Bennington along with three nephews Joshua and Cody Bisson, Jordan Reynolds and a niece, Brielle Tifft.
Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Wednesday June 29th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
A celebration of Mary's life will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.
