Marjorie Jean Carpenter

Marjorie Jean Carpenter, age 75, a resident of Homestead Mews in North Bennington died on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on October 6, 1940, in Cambridge, New York, and was the daughter of the late Harry and Dorothy (Russell) Peabody. She received her education in local schools.
In earlier years, Marjorie had been employed at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington.
She married Peter Carpenter in October 1993, he survives.
Marjorie enjoyed doing cross word puzzles, and spending time with her family.

Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter Tammy Dillard of Bennington, one step-daughter Sandy Carpenter, and two step-sons: Peter Carpenter, Jr. and Shane Carpenter. She leaves her sisters; Donna Peabody of North Bennington and Virginia Anderson of West Hebron, NY and her brother Morris Peabody of Cambridge, NY, as well as nieces, nephews and her companion Taylor.
Marjorie is predeceased by one son David Dillard, and one sister Kay Coon.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 8, 2016 at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St. Bennington, VT at 2:00PM.
There are no calling hours scheduled.
