Marilynn J. Kenyon

Marilynn J. Kenyon, 101, a resident of the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington, Vermont, passed away peacefully on October 4th, 2023 following a brief illness. Born on August 10th, 1922, in Shaftsbury, Vermont, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Helen (Ross) Jones. Marilynn attended classes in Shaftsbury and at St. Joseph’s Business College. On May 23, 1943, she married Francis R. Kenyon in Jacksonville, Florida. They were married nearly 60 years when Francis passed away on July 7th, 2002. Marilynn’s passion in life was her children. She loved spending time with her family. Simply put she enjoyed life. She also enjoyed being part of the North Bennington Baptist Church (Kindred Spirits and the choir), gardening and visiting with family and friends. Survivors include her children: Cheryl Thomson, Andrea Playotes (John), Chris Kenyon (Susan), Neil Kenyon (Nadine) and Keith Kenyon (Rae). She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Saturday October 14, 2023 at 11:15 a.m. at Grandview Cemetery in Shaftsbury, where Marilynn will be laid to rest in the Kenyon family lot.
