Marilyn J. Baldwin

Marilyn J. Baldwin, 93, a former longtime resident of White Creek, New York and more recently of Olmsted Falls, Ohio died Thursday March 2, 2023 in Olmsted Falls. She was born in Bennington, VT January 24, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Alexandra Rose (Provan) Wayman. Marilyn received her early education in Shaftsbury and was a graduate of North Bennington High School. She later attended the Austin School Hair Dressing Academy in Albany, New York. She married Harry S. Baldwin Jr. on February 13, 1954. Mr. Baldwin died February 9, 2002. For many years Marilyn was employed at Stanley Tools in Shaftsbury and later at the Hoosick Falls Health Center as a Relief Cook. She was a member of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in North Bennington. Marilyn enjoyed traveling, camping, reading, and knitting. She was devoted to her family. Her happiest times were spent with her family and camping in their camper at Fort Lauderdale Campground and spending time with her lifelong friend, Theresa Borden. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Peter Baldwin and the late Kathleen of Shushan, NY., Christine Whitford and the late Rick of Fort Edward, NY, Mary Krawczyk and Dennis of Bennington, VT, Joan Whitford and the late Gary of Georgetown, TN and Jane Baldwin of Venice, FL. Nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a grandson, Heath Samuel Whitford. The funeral will be held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Wednesday March 8, 2023 with a prayer at 10:15 a.m. and then from Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered. A luncheon will be provided after at the Church. The burial will take place in the family lot at Saint John’s Cemetery in North Bennington. Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Tuesday March 7, from 5;00 to 7:00 p.m. If friends desire contributions in memory of Marilyn J. Baldwin may be made to the Bella Care Hospice through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201.
