Marie A. Amidon (Jones)

April 25, 1930 — January 4, 2019

Marie A. Amidon, 88, a former resident of Gage Street in Bennington, VT died Friday January 4, 2018 at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation following a long illness.

She was born in Petersburgh, New York April 25, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Tracey and Waitie ( Goyer) Jones. She received her education in Berlin, NY

She married Floyd J. Amidon in 1957 . Mr. Amidon died in 1997

In earlier years Marie was employed as a cook.

Marie was always there for her kids and grandchildren. She loved her Charlie Hot Dogs, playing Bingo, going to Foxwoods and getting her nails done was a must. She also liked to square dance and listen to country music. Marie was a great cook and especially enjoyed cooking family recipes.

Survivors include her children, Nancy Roberts of Goodyear, Arizona, Floyd J. Amidon (Samantha) of Bellows Falls, VT, Dale Amidon (Nanette) of Bennington, VT, Rickey Amidon (Tami) of Bellows Falls, VT. Her grandchildren, John, Jason, Jessica, Jared, Christina, Floyd Jr., Tonya, Kristal, Diana, Elizabeth, Abraham, Danielle, Dale Jr., Autumn, Amie, April and Doug "Doobie", Rickey Jr., Rebecca, Mikey, Tella, Talia, and TiAnna. Along with several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by three daughters, Marie Amidon, Gayle Jones and Melissa Harrington.

Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Monday January 7, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

The funeral will be held at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Monday January 7, at noon.

The burial will follow at the family lot at the Berlin Baptist Cemetery in Berlin, NY.
