SHAFTSBURY
Marcia Ann Favreau, 76, wife of Raymond C. Favreau, a resident of Shaftsbury Hollow Road, died Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center following a long illness.
Born in Bennington on June 27, 1942 she was the daughter of the late Robert O. and Ann Elizabeth (Chebetar) Whitman. Marcia received her education in Manchester and was a graduate of Burr & Burton Seminary. In earlier years she was employed at Fowler Insurance in Manchester.
Marcia and Ray were married in Manchester on February 2, 1962.
For many years Marcia and Ray operated an antique business called Grammie & Pop-Pop's Treasures. She enjoyed re-doing old trunks and collecting salt and pepper shakers and antique tea cups.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond Favreau of Shaftsbury; a son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Priscilla Favreau of Bennington a daughter and son-in-law, Ann Favreau-Wilson and Curtis Wilson of Ocala, FL, and a daughter, Michele Favreau of Canada ; five grandchildren, Jessica (Eric) Hanlon, Kim Krawczyk, Amber Thomas, Eric (Katie) Favreau and Robbie (Katie) Favreau; three great-grandchildren, Hunter, Riley and Kairi Favreau; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Marcia was predeceased by a sister and three brothers, Joan Marie Short, Robert, William and Lyman Whitman.
The funeral will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in North Bennington on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered.
Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
