Dr. Lynn Ellen Lind of Manchester Village, born August 13, 1946, died August 14th, 2018 at home surrounded by family. Lynn was a wonderful wife for 51 years to her high school sweetheart, Jim Lind. She was also an amazing mother to her three daughters, Marybeth McGee, Fairfield CT, Dr. Katie Pinkus, Manchester VT and Becky Rivera, Brick, NJ and mother-in-law to Cal McGee, Dr. Brenton Pinkus and Antonio Rivera. She was loved and adored by her 8 grandchildren, in birth order; Jack McGee (18), Hannah Pinkus (18), Paige McGee (17), Grace Pinkus (16), Lucy Pinkus (11), Lillyana Rivera (10) and Beatress & James Rivera (5).
Born and raised in New Jersey, living in Plainfield, Union, Westfield, Wall Township and Manasquan, Lynn started and ended her career as a healer. She studied nursing and graduated from Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in 1967 and became a registered nurse at Overlook Hospital and worked her way up to head nurse of the coronary care unit. Lynn owned and operated several Diet Centers and then became the Director of the Wellness Center at Overlook Hospital, leading to sales manager for Hill-Rom Northeast. In 1998, they decided to 'retire' to open a bed and breakfast, Inn at Three Ponds in Londonderry, Vermont. During this time, she owned and operated a fitness center, Regeneration, and later had her own Alternative Healthcare Practice in Manchester, VT for 15 years as she earned her PHD in Natural Medicine. The best thing about Lynn was her ability to make others feel better about themselves. Her healing came in many forms, a remedy, a smile, a hug, or kind encouraging words which all had the same effect. She was a true healer in every sense of the word.
For those of you who had the utmost pleasure to know Lynn E Lind, you know she was an amazing person. She was nicknamed Rainbows and Sunshine by one of her granddaughters because she could take any situation or problem and turn it into something positive. She saw the light where there was dark, a lesson to learn and would take all of her life experiences in hopes to help others because of it. She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten for she lives in our hearts and her everlasting light and love shines down on us all.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, September 9th at 3:00 pm at the Red Barn at the Inn at Manchester. In lieu of flowers, to honor Lynn's spirit and her ongoing efforts to heal, a college scholarship fund has been established in her name, Dr. Lynn E Lind Memorial Scholarship Fund for a local high school student wishing to pursue a career in nursing or wellness.
