Lyman Francis Whitman

March 23, 1945 — November 30, 2018

Lyman Francis Whitman, 73, a resident of North Road in Shaftsbury, VT died Friday November 30, 2018 at the Sweetbrook Nursing Home in Williamstown, MA following a brief illness.

He was born in Bennington, VT March 23, 1945. He was the son of the late Robert and Ann (Chebetar) Whitman. Lyman received his education in Bennington.

He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

He married the former the former Donna Marie Merrow on July 18, 1970 in Wallingford, VT.

Lyman was employed by J.H. Maximilian Company as a welder and mechanic.

He enjoyed hunting and built stock cars at Lebanon Valley.

Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca (Jeremy) Nunweiler of Shaftsbury, VT and Deborah (Roger) Styczynski of North Adams, MA. Two grandchildren, Nick and Christin Prue and a sister, Marcia Favreau (Ray) of Shaftsbury. He was pre-deceased by his wife Donna and two grandsons, Christopher Prue and Timothy Whitman and great granddaughter Sophia Prue.

At Lyman's request there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
