Lucille Hacking (Vanness)

January 28, 1938 — July 11, 2020

Mrs. Lucille B. Hacking, age 82, a resident of White Birches MHP in Bennington,

died on Saturday, July 11, 2020, following a long illness. She was born in Bennington, VT on January 28, 1938 and was the daughter of the late Elmer and Ella (Cross) VanNess. Lucille received her education in local schools. She is the widow of Lester Hackings who predeceased in 2015.

For many years, she had been employed at various mills and factories in the area.

In more recent years, Lucille had been employed at the Manes House Adult Care Center in Bennington. She enjoyed skeet shooting and for the last few years, Lucille was the first runner up in the State of Vermont. She enjoyed doing cross stitch and coloring.

Lucille is survived by her three children: Robin LeBlanc and fiancé Joe Castegnaro of Bennington, Jay Burdick and Paul Burdick, both of Vermont. She leaves her grandchildren including Joshua Robin McIntyre of Bennington as well as many great grandchildren and her three sisters: Helen Shaw of Bennington, Shirley Kelly of Bennington, Betty Paulin of Shaftsbury, VT and one brother Jerry VanNess of Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she is predeceased by one son Henry LeBlanc, Jr, and one brother Robert VanNess.

A Memorial service will be held privately by her family on Saturday, July 18 at 11:00AM at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
