LOUISE PIEKARSKI OBITUARY
PERU, VERMONT
Louise V. (Christie) Piekarski, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center, following along illness. She fought a valiant battle against Dementia/Alzheimers.
Born to Harry and Verona (Kukart) Christie on August 23, 1929. She graduated from Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School in 1947. On August 19, 1950, she married her high school sweetheart, Henry H. Piekarski, Sr.
For many years she worked a long side her husband in the Texaco and Citgo service stations in Fanwood, NJ, taking care of the paperwork and pumping gas when needed. In 1976 they picked up roots and moved to Vermont " "God's Country". There she and Hank ran the Mountain View Store in Peru.
She is predeceased by her father, Harry and mother Verona and husband Hank, brother Harry and daughter-in-law Barbara.
Left to carry on her memories are her children; Chris Piekarski, Henry Piekarski, Louise Piekarski Plasse, and Karen (Jamie) Carrera. Her grandchildren Adam Piekarski, Danielle Caballero, Victoria Plasse, Brittany Plasse, Michael Carrera, Ryan Carrera and Kelsey Carrera. She was also lucky enough to have great grandchildren; Madison and Miles Piekarski, Kyle Henry Plasse, and Andrew Carrera. She is also survived by her companion of ten years, Albert Cartwright.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday afternoon, November 20, and 1:00PM at the Peru Congregational Church.
Interment will follow in the Peru Village Cemetery.
There are no calling hours scheduled.
The family would also like to express their gratitude to the 3rd Floor Staff at Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center, the Bennington Area VNA and Hospice for their care and compassion for Louise.
