Lou Anne Doin, 93, a resident of Hoosick Falls, New York, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 8th, 2024 at Brookdale Fillmore Pond in Bennington, Vermont, following a long illness. Born on Thursday, September 25th, 1930 in Springfield, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of the late James and Ellen (Sporing) Green. Lou Anne lived in a few different places growing up; Adams, MA, Menands, NY, and Postenkill, NY. She graduated from Albany High School in Albany, NY. Lou Anne later attended Hudson Valley Community College. While a student at Hudson Valley, she met a young man named James Doin. On September 7th, 1973, she and Jim were married at the Hawthorne Church in North Adams, MA. Lou Anne was a talented artist who worked primarily with stained glass; doing commission work for many different clients. She also worked as a legal secretary at one time. Lou Anne had a passion for gardening. Her passion brought about “The Raspberry House”. This was a small farm stand where she sold raspberries as well as Jam and other raspberry products. Survivors include her loving husband of over 50 years; Jim Doin. Her children; David Cowan, Debbie Sluz, Denise Paternetti (Tony), and Donna Carnevale. Her grandchildren; Camile Carnevale, Elena Paternetti, Ziek Paternetti, Mark Sluz, Elizabeth Rever, Sarah Holland, Dan Cowan, and David Cowan. Her siblings; Diane Schwartzer and Theodore “Ted” Green. Lou Anne is also survived by many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, Lou Anne was predeceased by a brother, David Green and a grandson; Harrison Carnavale.
