Lorraine Norma Olson-Wolff

Lorraine “Lori” Olson-Wolff passed away suddenly on March 2, 2025. She was born in Brooklyn NY May 24, 1949, to Romolo Nanni and Julia Nanni (Fasanello). She grew up on Long Island where she made many lifelong friends and raised two children, Ron and Julie.

Lorraine moved upstate in the 1980’s. She, her husband, family and friends built a cabin in the woods that would come to be a second home to many. She created an extensive family with love, music, and food. Lorraine’s passion for music and family created a legacy that spanned generations.

She was a fierce protector of her own. Many would rely on her love, insight, and laughter through hard times. Her devotion to those around her made for a rare and beautiful life for her loved ones. An exceptional dancer, she can be remembered spinning in her living room with her husband Lou, singing along with her family, and smiling proudly at what she had accomplished.

Lorraine’s heart extended far beyond the bonds of blood, and she found herself a sister, aunt, mother, and grandmother in the eyes of many of those close to her. Everyone can remember her cooking, with love, in her kitchen. No matter how many people she gathered, it was known that no one would leave her house hungry or without a song in their heart.

Lorraine is predeceased by her first husband Lenard Olson, second husband Louis Wolff, her son Ron Olson, and her brother Jason Nanni. She leaves behind her daughter, Julie Olson, sisters Norma Germano, and Virginia Nanni, brother Romolo Nanni Jr, grandchildren Shayne Olson, Morgan Leard, Dylan Olson, and Brandon Olson, great grandchildren Vitalia Olson, Kai Pineiro, Lilith Olson, Lennox Blake, brother and sister-in law Tom and Kathy Slee, and many other family and friends.

Calling hours will be at Mahar Funeral Home in Bennington on Friday April 4, 2025, from 4pm-6pm. All who knew Lori are welcome to come and remember her.
