Lois Benkoski Langlois, 79, a resident of Sawmill Road in Bennington died Monday July 26, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born in Hoosick Falls, NY April 23, 1942. She was the daughter of the late Joseph A. Benkoski and Clara M. (Parker) Benkoski. Lois received her education in Hoosick Falls, NY.
In earlier years Lois was employed at the Paradise Motel and later worked at Bennington Project Independence. In 1989 she purchased Rivers Edge Community Care Home which she currently operated with her daughters.
Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her main interest. She loved spending time at her camp at Lake St. Catherine.
Survivors include a son, Michael J. Langlois of Bennington. Two daughters, Kelly Lemieux and her husband Craig of Bennington and Robin Gardner and her husband Matthew of Pownal. Three grandchildren, Michael L. Langlois and his wife Morgan of Monroe, MA, Michaela Lemieux of Richmond, Virginia, and Grace A. Gardner and Austin Mattison of Pownal, VT. Three great grandchildren, Ridge and Colton Langlois of Monroe, MA and Thomas Mattison of Pownal, VT Two sisters, Sandra "Snookie" Harrington of Hoosick Falls, NY and Linda Langlois of Bennington. Along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by a brother James Palmer and a sister Joanne Rice.
Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Wednesday July 28, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
The funeral will be held from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church on Thursday July 29, at 11:00 a.m. where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered.
The burial will follow in the family lot at Park Lawn Cemetery.
